What's on in London: You Are Loved

You Are Loved is launching its LGBTQ community directory at an event in London on 19 June.

The directory - Ask Bobby - is named after Robin Windsor, a dancer and mental health advocate who died in 2024.

The aim is to build Ask Bobby into a nationwide wellbeing resource that recognises the central role community, connection, and belonging plays in improving mental health and wellbeing.

Join us at Betty & Joan’s in the heart of Elephant & Castle for an evening of talks and socialising, to celebrate the launch of Ask Bobby: You Are Loved’s LGBTQ+ directory for community & support. On Thursday the 19th of June 2025 You Are Loved is launching a nationwide LGBTQ+ directory designed to help queer people locate community initiatives, social groups, and support services close to home. Whether you’re looking for a local gay social group, a weekly lesbian bouldering class, or queer focused mental health support — Ask Bobby is here to help you find it. The name of the directory honours Robin Windsor – professional dancer best known for his appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, and a cherished advocate for love, kindness, and mental health. Among friends and loved ones, he was affectionately called “Bobby”. Robin died suddenly in 2024 after years of navigating personal mental health struggles. His loss deeply shook those who loved him and highlighted the urgent need for a dedicated place for LGBTQ+ people to find community and support. The launch event will be held at the newest and biggest LGBTQ+ venue in South London - the fantastic Betty & Joans. We promise an evening of inspiring talks, socialising, and building community. (On a side note; if you run or are involved with a community initiative, a support group, or a mental health charity catering to any part of the LGBTQ+ community, please submit the organisations information through the dedicated directory sign-up portal on our website to be added to this new directory in time for the launch: www.youare-loved.com/directory)

A non-profit organisation, the objective of You Are Loved is to create space for the queer community to talk, share and support each other as a way of combatting loneliness, stigma, and discrimination.
