What to watch: 300 Letters
A film by Lucas Santa Ana.
Written and directed by Lucas Santa Ana, 300 Letters gives us the story of Jero (Cristian Mariani) and Tom (Gastón Frías) who seem to have the perfect relationship. However, on the day of the first anniversary of when they met, Jero returns home to find that Tom has abandoned him, leaving him a box of 300 letters as his only explanation.
Set in Argentina, this is a film with an attractive cast and an engaging non-linear narrative.
While the use of the letters as a storytelling device keeps us somewhat emotionally distant from the main characters, the film is a thoughtful exploration on the expectations of queer relationships and how men navigate intimacy.
300 Letters will be available to screen on digital platforms from 11 November.
