Awkward! Linus Karp and Joseph Martin got married at Fringe
Their show about fairytale romances included the couple actually tying the knot!

We've long been fans of Linus Karp and Joseph Martin - the duo behind Awkward Productions and the creators of camp classics such as "Gwyneth Goes Skiing" and "Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story".
They're currently performing at Edinburgh Fringe with their latest show, The Fit Prince.
The full title of the show is: The Fit Prince (Who Gets Switched on the Square in the Frosty Castle the Night Before [INSERT PUBLIC HOLIDAY HERE]), but we'll just call it The Fit Prince for shorthand.
Adding extra rom into this rom-com is that Linus and Joseph have made a bit of theatre history by actually getting married on stage during their run at the Fringe.
It's believed that the couple are the first pair to marry on stage with a ticketed audience in the Fringe’s 78-year history, and the first LGBTQ couple to wed as part of the official programme.
"I always saw myself getting married, but certainly never like this!" explained Joseph Martin, when we spoke to him before the wedding about his upcoming nuptials. "But then again, Linus has taken my life in an incredible, fun, ridiculous, exciting direction I never would have predicted, so perhaps this is the only way we could have ever legally tied the knot."
We asked Joseph what his younger-self might thing of it all.
"I reckon younger Joseph would think it’s a lovely idea..." said Joseph. "Given that it is yet another way for him to grab attention."

What is The Fit Prince about?
Audiences are invited to Swedonia – a suspiciously familiar, completely fictional country. All is not well. The King is dead and the prince in line to the throne is unmarried – if he doesn’t find someone soon he must forfeit the crown! Meanwhile, in New York City, baker Aaron Butcher is butchering his career as a family baker. His puppet colleague, the optimistic Jenny Puppetson, submits his name for a mysterious royal commission in the faraway land of Swedonia: he’s been selected to bake the wedding cake for the Prince himself. Extremely reluctantly, and mostly to spite his ex, Aaron accepts. Maybe a commission in the non-location-specific country of Swedonia will fix his problems?
Promising an affectionate parody of the Hallmark holiday movies that have created unrealistic dating expectations for all of us, this show will feature all of the winning elements of an Awkward Productions experience - it will be interactive, queer, and camp.
