Men around the world embrace the month of May as Masturbation Month. Can you remember how you first discovered and began to explore masturbation?

I began to explore masturbation probably around like 11 or 12 years old. 12 seems too old, so it had to have been like 11.

Like a lot of men my age, my sexual awakening was Zac Efron. It just started with
looking at pictures and just kind of feeling around and I just kind of discovered myself and my body and the rest is history, I guess.

Fast forward then a little bit to when you connected with the community on BateWorld - can you remember how you discovered BateWorld and how that felt to find other men who shared your passion for masturbation?

My journey with BateWorld started back during the pandemic - exploring the internet, bored, horny.

I was on Reddit and somebody mentioned BateWorld and I was like - what is this? How have I not known about this? So I looked into it, made an account and I was like, holy crap, there's so many guys that are just like me out there. It was so refreshing. I felt like I found I finally found a like a tribe of people that I really related to. It was just astonishing - I was so over the moon excited.

Bateworld has set the standard on this in terms of the identities that surround masturbation. Do you identify as a bator or a gooner or a solo-sexual? Were they words that you were using before BateWorld or did BateWorld somehow shape your identity in relation to masturbation?

I didn't discover solo-sexuality and gooning until I joined BateWorld, but I do identify as a gooner. In sexual encounters, I identify as a side, but I'm definitely a gooner.

Back when I was like 18 or 19 years old, I would get on these marathon edging sessions. I used to think of it as going feral-brain. I was just so horny and I was doing my thing - gooning out - and I didn't know that was a thing other people were doing until I joined BateWorld. I'm like, holy crap - these are my people. I found gooners. This is amazing.

You're hosting the fourth annual Great BateWorld BateOff. Having previously won the second season of the competition, is this a bit of a full-circle moment for you?

Definitely. When I was asked to join the cast of season two, I didn't even think I was on anybody's radar to be cast. To be brought back for season three and now season four to host, it feels amazing.

I feel so honoured that BateWorld gives me the opportunity to put a little bit of my touch and essence on a show as great as the Great BateWorld BateOff.

You're known for your really expressive way of masturbating - of conveying what you're feeling during masturbation. Is that part of an exhibitionist kink for you?

Yeah, I'm a bit of an exhibitionist, I'm just naturally very expressive.

Growing up, everybody would say - your face is just saying exactly how you're feeling. That really translates into my sexual life where I'm very expressive and I like showing how I'm feeling on the inside and how my penis feels.

If I'm feeling good, it's going to show.

Do events such as the BateOff help break down some of the stigma and shame that still seems to be attached to masturbation?

Definitely. I've seen such a large shift in masturbation culture overall - especially since the pandemic. There's less stigma.

More people have access to viewing masturbation online and there's more men displaying themselves and more people see guys that they identify with or relate to. It's so diverse - especially on BateWorld.

That was one thing that really stood out to me was the diversity - it wasn't just all studio porn-star models on display. It's real and it's raw - that's really helped break down the stigma of masturbation.

I myself never saw masturbation as a negative thing. I mean, it was never something that was discussed in my household, and I never really had a sex talk - I just learned myself. I'm like, this is not a bad thing - it's a normal part of the human experience. Men masturbate - that's just how it is.

I was lucky in that way to never grow up with that stigma. But lots of men have.

I've actually had a fair amount of guys reach out to me and say - I'm so glad I discovered you, you made me feel accepted and seen - that makes me feel so honoured. It's amazing that I can bring people to BateWorld to share in that experience and see that there is a community of men that all have each other's backs.

What enables a masturbation community to be so inclusive? It almost seems it's because what you're celebrating is the joy of masturbation itself. It's almost brotherhood kind of thing as we're all doing this together and we're celebrating the activity. We don't actually have to feel a sexual attraction to each other because it's about what we're doing together?

It's very much a celebration. BateWorld overall is just celebrating masturbation and having each other's backs. It very much is a brotherhood.

I call my my fans - my followers - I call them my bros. Every video I do, I'm like, - Hey, bros, it's Colby Jaxxx - because I want to extend that welcome. We're all brothers, we're all part of this masturbation brotherhood.

When you're creating content like that - sharing that content with your followers and the BateWorld community - what are you wanting to convey? What are you hoping that people are feeling? When they're watching you masturbate, is the intention that they masturbate along with you? What's the emotion that you're trying to get them to feel?

I want to welcome people into my bate sessions. I'm really hoping guys are masturbating along with me. That's really the goal.

I am a very creative person and I like crafting videos and I love the feedback of the videos.

Do you feel pressure to come up with new ways of masturbating? You've got an audience that you're trying to take with you on the journey and stimulate and keep them interested - do you feel a pressure to always show them something fresh?

There is a little of that, but not not overall - guys just really like seeing what I do.

I feel like I'm generally a very upbeat person and people like to see that. It's more about the the bonding, the brotherhood.

Each week with the Great BateWorld BateOff, the contestants are competing for votes and they're given different challenges. They're aiming to be crowned the Master Bator. From your perspective as a previous title holder, what does it take to be a Master Bator?

If you are in the competition to win that title, you really need to be charismatic, to have your persona, to play with angles and lighting, to perfect your aesthetic, and be conscious of the vibe that you give off to the audience.

Like, who are you? What are you doing? Do you have a niche?

Do you need a consistent brand in that sense? You've got to hit the competition with a very clear sense of who you are or what you're presenting?

I feel like you could come at it two different directions. Especially with this season, because we have some some big names, some big content creators in this season that have been doing it a while. They definitely have their their style and aesthetic. Back on season two, I was still so new to it. I had a sense of my vibe, but I was still kind of figuring it out along the way. Like with each episode, I feel like I kind of found myself more in the content.

By the end, I was like, wow, like I really have figured out who I am in this competition. It was really exciting for me at the time.

Did that journey of self-discovery reveal parts of yourself or aspects of yourself that you perhaps weren't aware of?

With my masturbation practices, it's all kind of stayed pretty consistent. But in terms of being a content creator, I developed so much more and I got a sense of the angles and the lighting - I was just figuring it all out for the first time.

At the beginning I'm just like setting my phone up in the corner and now I have a whole studio set-up - I've got the lights, I've got the ring cameras, I've got different angles.

I'm very proud of where I am now and the content that I'm making.

How has your journey with content creation shaped intimacy in your personal life? Do you try and keep your content separate from your personal life or does it all blend together somehow?

I have made a divide in my head - this is the persona, this is my personal life. I try to keep the two very separate. Although they intertwine. They definitely intertwine.

Why is it difficult to keep them separate?

I live in a small town in Wisconsin. All the gays here, they follow my Twitter, they know who I am. If I go to like the local gay bar, they'll be like, Oh, hey, Colby.

I actually had a first-time experience with a fan - although I didn't know he was a fan. He came over and all of sudden he turns on this like, like, hey bro. He wanted me to edge him and goon out.

I wasn't expecting it, but I'm like - okay, I can turn that on.

It was great. But in terms of my personal life, I like to be treated a little differently. I'm more of an intimate lover with my partners.

Is there anything else left on your bucket list in terms of masturbation

I do want to invite more bators, more content creators into my space - I want to invite more men into my world for creating content.

So it becomes a studio? The Colby Jaxxx Masturbation Studio or a stable of masturbators?

It would be cool to do like a studio thing. But yeah, I would just like to invite more people into my goony world.

What about something like a gooning retreat, where you have an in-person Colby Jaxxx experience?

Yeah, that would be so much fun for me. I love coaching guys and just encouraging them.

I guess with solo masturbation practices, I'd like to play a little bit more with anal toys - that's not really an area that I've explored before but it's something I'd like to just experiment with see how that goes.

Because you talked about how you identify as a side, which tends to steer you away from anal play. But it's something that you'd like to explore on camera?

Yeah, I have this idea of having an anal journey on my on my fan pages. Like, you guys are going to be along for this whole journey.

In a previous relationship, I was the bottom. I don't know if the penis wasn't the right match, because I would just dread it. I'd be like, my God, this doesn't feel good for me. I'm glad it feels good for you. I can't wait for this to be over.

I don't know if that was just a me thing or if that's more of a thing amongst maybe people that identify as sides and bators, if they're like, yeah, this doesn't really work for me.

I'm visual - I like to see it, I like to feel it, I like to like engage with it. With anal sex, I can't really see the moving parts. I'm just laying there, taking it.

If someone wanted to get a bit more serious about their masturbation - maybe with the goal of entering next year's Great BateWorld BateOff -what advice or guidance would you give them?

Start your journey now. If content creating is something you want to do, start now.

Just kind of figure out your vibe and your aesthetic and play around, just record videos with the thought of nobody's ever going to see this. But if you watch it back and you're like, wait, this is really good. Then post it. See the response that you get.

That's what I used to do. I used to just like set up my phone and I'd say, you know what? Nobody's ever going to see this, this is for me. And then I'd watch it back and be like, yeah, I want people to see this.
